A Lullaby…

a, la, loo
La, la, loo
Oh my little star sweeper
I’ll sweep the stardust for you

La, la, loo
La, la, loo
Little soft, fluffy sleeper
Here comes a pink cloud for you

Rosie sang the song soft and gentle, just like she had learned from “Lady and the Tramp” as Reggie held her up at the hospital nursery overlooking her new little brother. Like Lady, she was confused and excited at the same time, she knew what a baby was of course, and knew that Mommy Helena had had him in her stomach, but the mechanism of it escaped her. Her obsidian eyes were filled with sparkles at the wonder of it all.

She watched as Anna talked to the nurse in the room, and then as the nurse took the sleepy baby from the crib and motioned for Reggie to bring Rosie in.  He sat the girl down and smiled as the nurse gently transferred the sleeping Phillip into Rosie’s careful porcelain arms. The girl became radiant as she cooed to the baby and then finished the lullaby.

La, la, loo
La, la, loo
Little wandering angel
Fold up your wings
Close your eyes

La, la, loo
La, la, loo
And may love be your keeper

La, la, loo
La, la, loo
La, la, loo
